The Booth Centre is delivering free collaborative workshops for VCFSE organisations in Greater Manchester to provide tools and insight for effective data collection.
The workshops will focus on how to:
- Report back to grant funders, illustrating evidence of impact or service gaps, ensuring data collection practices are manageable yet meet the needs of the grant funder
- Fulfil you contractual responsibilities in a way that aligns with your values, the needs of you organisation and the people you support

Workshop 1: Engaging with Data Requirements

The first workshop in the series, hosted at the Booth Centre, will focus on the scope of data that can or needs to be collected for grant funded projects. The workshop will look at:
- Using tools to identify gaps between required data and current practice, identifying barriers and solution
- Translating external reporting frameworks into delivery practices
- Building relationships and negotiating techniques with public sector grant funders

Workshop 2: Values-led Approach to Data Collection
6th May, 1pm-3pm, Booth Centre, Edward Holt House, Pimblett Street, Manchester, M3 1FU
The second workshop will look at how collecting data shapes relationships between people receiving support and the support provider. The workshop will discuss person-centred, trauma informed data collection and will cover:
- Collecting data with informed consent, in a trauma-informed, person-centred way
- Practical approaches for codesigning data collection mechanisms
- How to illustrate the needs of this approach to grant funders

Workshop 3: Embedding & Maintaining Data Collection Practices

Bringing learning from workshop 1 and 2 this workshop will look at working with new systems, producing good data returns and maintaining dialogue with funders around data collection. The workshop will cover:
- Mechanisms to embed and maintain agreed data collection procedures
- How to use data to illustrate and enhance the delivery of your grant funded project
- Resolving barriers and problems you might face
