Employer Skills Group seeks members

12 Dec 2014 - 11:35 by michelle.foster

GMCVO is inviting expressions of interest from voluntary sector and social enterprise employers (VCSE) to join a small Employer Skills Group that can help shape the future of skills development and learning for voluntary organisations and social enterprises in Greater Manchester.

As you may know, national policy and resources are increasingly being focused in the hands of employers. GMCVO would like to help establish a group of employers in Greater Manchester that understand the current and future skills and training needs in the VCSE sector. GMCVO would like a mix of sizes and thematic specialisms, as well as coverage of the Greater Manchester districts and population.

Members of the group would be asked to help shape and eventually take ownership of the group, but it will initially be facilitated by GMCVO. It is anticipated that the early meetings will include discussions regarding current and emerging skills gaps, apprenticeships and traineeships.

To express an interest in joining the group, email your contact and organisation details and a brief explanation of why you’d like to be involved, to: [email protected] by 22 December 2014.

Please include the following information:
• Name
• Organisation name
• The local authority area in which your organisation is based
• The geographic coverage of your organisation
• The client groups/sectors your organisation supports
• Size of organisation (staff)
• Size of organisation (turnover)
• Brief explanation of why you’d like to be involved
