The Vision for Volunteering team has announced that their first workshops are now open for sign-ups. These workshops will help inform England’s Vision for Volunteering; a cross-sector consultation designed to develop a shared, actions-focused ambition for volunteering.
The consultation is led by NAVCA, NCVO, Volunteering Matters, the Association of Volunteer Managers, and Sport England.
Workshops:
The workshops currently live are in the Healthy Ageing, Climate Emergency and Sport and Physical Activity themes:
- Healthy Ageing Workshop 1 – 16 November, 2pm-4pm. Workshop topic: Promoting volunteering as a tool to sustain and improve health and wellbeing in later life
- Healthy Ageing Workshop 2 – 1 December, 2pm-4pm. Workshop topic: Tackling myths about and overcoming barriers that affect older age volunteers
- Climate Emergency Workshop 1 – 16 November, 2pm-4pm. Workshop topic: The role that volunteers can play in helping tackle the Climate Emergency
- Climate Emergency Workshop 2 – 30 November, 2pm-4pm. Workshop topic: What we need to deliver long term sustainable impact in climate volunteering
- Sport England Workshop 1 – 23 November, 10am-12pm. Workshop topic: Igniting the Movement: developing and delivering a vision for volunteering in the sport and physical activity sector
- Sport England Workshop 2 – 30 November, 10am-12pm. Workshop topic: Shared Futures: exploring common challenges and opportunities between volunteering in sport and physical activity and wider sectors
The remaining workshops will be open to sign ups shortly, focusing on further priority areas: including Resilient Communities, Health and Wellbeing, Young People Leading Change, and Employment and Skills.
