Fully-funded digital training programmes launch

fast track digital workforce imageThe Fast Track Digital Workforce Fund is a joint venture between Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and Lancashire Digital Skills Partnership (LDSP), developed to address locally identified digital skills gaps and support Greater Manchester and Lancashire residents with accessible routes into digital employment. This Fund has been extended through the Department for Education Digital Bootcamps to maximise on this work, giving residents the opportunity to build up their digital skills and fast-track to an interview with a local employer.

The Fast Track Digital Workforce Fund provides accessible pathways into digital careers for underrepresented groups. These programmes come with guaranteed interviews for jobs in the region in specialist tech roles such as DevOps, Data Analysts and Cloud Engineers.

New fully-funded programmes open for applications
Four projects from across Greater Manchester and Lancashire have been selected to receive funding from the Department for Education Digital Bootcamp trailblazers, as part of the fourth round of the Fast Track Digital Workforce Fund. The successful projects in this round of the fund will fast track under-employed and unemployed residents into the industries most in demand jobs including Software Development and Cloud Engineering.

The projects which are now open for applications are:

Your Journey through Tech: Dev-Ops Upskill’ – Tech Returners
Your Journey through Tech: Dev-Ops Upskill’ is a 12-week part time course delivered flexibly supporting businesses to upskill their tech teams and individuals to progress.

Master: Coding – Code Nation
‘Master: Coding’ is a 12-week full time immersive coding bootcamp. Participants will learn the technical, commercial, and interpersonal skills required to become a fully work ready Junior Software Developer with a focus on extended reality.

The IN4.0 Talent Academy – IN4.0 Group
The IN4.0 Talent Academy is a 12-week full time training programme in cloud computing and data analytics with candidates certified as AWS Cloud Practitioners.

NorthCoders Diversity Scholarship – Northcoders
Northcoders’ is a 14-week full time coding bootcamp training people with little tech experience to become adaptable, work ready-software developers.
