Manchester City Council is hosting two webinars with Macc to ensure Manchester organisations that work with unemployed or economically inactive residents are ready for upcoming funding opportunities.
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025.
UKSPF has replaced the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF). These funds previously helped support job creation, skills programmes, innovation and carbon reduction in the city-region. Core UKSPF funding will be used to support communities and place, local businesses and provide opportunities to boost people and skills.
Greater Manchester aims to harness the opportunities presented by the fund to address economic disparities, uplift communities, and foster sustainable growth throughout the city region.
Commissioning for the People and Skills element of the fund is underway, and we anticipate that Manchester will receive a significant proportion of funding to support those disengaged or economically inactive. We want to work with the voluntary and community sector to ensure that strong connections with prime contractors are made and to prepare the sector to bid for grant funding to deliver quality community-based projects that align to the needs of Manchester residents.
Join one or both of the webinars to hear more about the GM UKSPF programme and discuss the upcoming opportunities. We recommend that you attend both webinars.
