Grants for National Vegetarian Week 2015

30 Apr 2015 - 09:16 by michelle.foster

The Vegetarian Society have a fund to help support National Vegetarian Week (NVW) community activities and events.

Who can apply?
• Vegetarian groups, local network groups and student vegetarian and vegan societies (whether they are formally part of our network or not)
• Not for profit organisations in the UK e.g. community groups, schools, social housing schemes, youth clubs, Cubs, Brownies, Scouts or Guides
• Informal groups of friends, parents or students
• Individuals

How much are the grants for?
Grants are expected to be up to £200, but applications can be made for larger amounts where you can demonstrate your activity will have a bigger impact.

What does your activity or idea have to include?
• It takes place during National Vegetarian Week 18-24 May 2015
• Celebrates and promotes vegetarianism
• Activities funded have to be exclusively vegetarian (so no non-vegetarian food or drink)
• Must promote NVW exclusively as the primary purpose of the funded activity, and optionally ties in with the ‘Share’ theme of NVW 2015. ‘Share’ is all about enjoying delicious veggie food with your friends, family, colleagues, neighbours and community. It’s a great way to connect with those around you and explore meat-free food together.

In addition to the grant, National Vegetarian Week and the Vegetarian Society can offer help in the form of free publicity, information materials and NVW packs and posters. The Vegetarian Society can also publicise your activities through the What’s Happening calendar at: www.nationalvegetarianweek.org.
