Grants for voluntary and community groups to improve services for young people with autism

20 Mar 2015 - 12:40 by michelle.foster

If you're a voluntary or community group, you can apply for a grant of between £500 and £18,500 to improve services for 14-25 year olds with autism.

Manchester City Council would like to see applications that maximise the impact of the grant by combining it with your own resources or using it to get external funding.

Manchester City Council are also keen to see services that will help young people in the transition into adulthood.

Your application must show how you will meet at least one of the following goals:
•Enable the integration of young people with autism into integrated, mainstream youth services
•Improve the experience of young people with autism using integrated, mainstream youth services
•Identify areas of innovation and good practice in services for young people with autism, within integrated youth services

The grant can be used to pay for computer and electrical equipment as well as improvements to building and outside spaces. It cannot be used to support your running costs such as staffing, building or training costs.

If you want to apply for the full £18,500 you must demonstrate that your project will have a significant impact and could be accessed across Manchester.

Manchester City Council want to make sure there's a good balance of activities across the city. This may mean an application may not get funding, even though it is assessed favourably, if there are similar applications in the same area.
