The Greater Manchester Strategy was first developed in 2009. It established an ambitious vision for 2020. The Greater Manchester Combined Authority want to secure long-term economic growth and enable the city region to fulfil its economic potential, whilst ensuring that residents are able to contribute to and share in that prosperity.
The vision still stands – it is just as relevant in 2013. But in the light of the economic challenges the approach has been reassessed to achieve that vision. In refreshing the Greater Manchester Strategy, the strategic priorities have been revisited to ensure that the response to the challenges that are being faced is one that will promote growth and secure reform of the way that public services are delivered across Greater Manchester to deliver the prosperity is sought for everyone: all our citizens in all our places.
