Greater Manchester Violence Reduction Unit Community-led Approaches Programme

funding£80,000 is available to bring together an alliance of community organisations who can offer the following interventions in Moss Side, Rusholme and Hulme:

  • Youth Work – open access, targeted and detached. The targeted work should support young people who are at risk or vulnerable to serious youth violence or criminal exploitation.
  • Community sports and performing arts
  • Mentors and youth workers in Schools
  • Support for children, young people and families who have experienced trauma.
  • Projects that engage and support both young people and their parents/carers/families, holistically, connecting with additional support services where necessary.

Age Range: delivery proposals need to prioritise young people aged 10- 25 years.

The programme is particularly interested in receiving applications which offer creative solutions to identifying suitable partnerships/venues in Moss Side, Rusholme and Hulme using community assets including outdoor spaces.

One organisation is invited to take the lead role in submitting an expression of interest on behalf of a voluntary, community, social enterprise sector (VCSE) alliance. The lead organisation needs to have strong connections with the communities of Moss Side, Rusholme and Hulme.

Lead applicants should complete an Expression of Interest.
