Holyoake House – Heritage Building Consultation

9 Mar 2022 - 11:50 by michelle.foster

Holyoake House is home to numerous co-operatives and social enterprises, and received its Grade II listed status on 20 June 1988. Built in 1911, using subscriptions from co-ops across the UK, surveyHolyoake House was erected in memory of Co-operative activist George Holyoake. The movement decided to honour him by building a permanent headquarters for the Co-operative Union near Victoria Station in Manchester.

Co-operative UK are currently considering how the building could be used to best serve the Co-operative movement going forward? What workspace models should be explored, and what wider amenities could the building benefit from? Could the building accommodate tours, exhibitions and events?
