Can-Survive UK (CSUK) is seeking to commission an experienced, independent evaluator to undertake an evaluation of our 3 Greater Manchester Boroughs Project, funded by Macmillan Support.
Can-Survive UK Founded in 2015, Can-Survive UK is an award-winning grassroots charity based in Manchester, working to challenge the inequalities experienced by African, Caribbean and ethnically diverse communities affected by cancer. CSUK provide culturally appropriate, person-centred support that empowers individuals, amplifies community voices and influences cancer policy and practice locally, regionally and nationally.
The 3 Greater Manchester Boroughs Project (2025–2028) aims to:
- Develop three bespoke Cancer Support Hubs in Greater Manchester boroughs
- Influence inclusive and effective cancer strategies across GM
- Improve access to integrated personalised care through the GM Live Well with Cancer programme
The project focuses on improving timely access to support, enabling people to live well with cancer, and strengthening culturally competent statutory and VCSE cancer provision.
About the Evaluation
CSUK are inviting tenders from skilled evaluators or evaluation teams to design and deliver a robust, inclusive evaluation that captures both process and impact over a two-year period.
Working closely with CSUK, the evaluator will:
- Co-produce key evaluation questions and an evaluation framework
- Use mixed methods (qualitative and quantitative) with a strong focus on service-user voice
- Support reflective practice and learning throughout delivery
- Produce an interim and final impact reports
- Generate learning that informs practice, influences systems and demonstrates impact to funders, partners and policy-makers

Who CSUK are looking for
CSUK welcome applications from evaluators with:
- Proven experience in evaluation and impact assessment
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analysis skills
- Experience of working with African, Caribbean and ethnically diverse communities
- Excellent facilitation, communication and report-writing skills
- A flexible, reflective and values-driven approach
An up-to-date DBS check will be required.

Contract value: £41,650 (inclusive of VAT where applicable)
Contract period: March 2026 – February 2028
Reporting to: CSUK Strategic Lead
