Lloyds Bank Foundation – Invest Grants

12 May 2016 - 10:55 by michelle.foster

Invest grants provide longer term core or direct delivery funding for eligible charities that are delivering clear outcomes as a result of their work. These grants are from £10,000 up to a maximum of £25,000 per year for two or three years, with the opportunity for continuation funding for a further period – up to six years in total.

Invest grants fund core organisational costs, meaning those related to the day to day running of your charity. Requests for core costs will only be considered where the majority of your charity’s work (more than 50% of your work and expenditure) meets our eligibility criteria. Costs associated with the direct delivery of your work will also be funded.

To apply:
• You must be a Charity or Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered with the Charity Commission
• Your charity must have an income between £25,000 and £1 million
• Your charity must work with disadvantaged people aged 17 and over
• Your charity must be supporting people facing multiple disadvantage through one or more of specified transition points

The grants fund charities that are working with people experiencing multiple disadvantage at one of the following critical points in their life.

People experiencing multiple disadvantage have poor outcomes across a range of dimensions of life. The effects of several disadvantages acting together can be more difficult for people to overcome than just a single aspect of disadvantage.

To be eligible to apply, your charity must be supporting people facing multiple disadvantage through one or more of these transition points:
• Offending
• Children and young people leaving a care situation
• People moving from community based or institutional care for mental ill health
• Unemployment
• Homelessness/vulnerably housed
• To independent living for those with a learning disability
• From dependency on alcohol, drugs, gambling
• From an abusive or exploitative relationship – domestic violence
• From trafficking or sexual exploitation
• To UK settlement – refugees and asylum seekers
• To parenthood for young parents
• Those taking on caring responsibilities
• For older people losing independence

Invest grant applicants must have appropriate systems in place to be able to effectively monitor the outcomes of the work funded by an Invest grant.

Applying for an Invest grant is a two stage application process. Eligible applicants are required to submit an Initial Application, and if invited to continue in the process, will be visited by their local Grant Manager and asked to complete and submit a full application.
