Manchester International Festival 2023 Festival Roles

Factory International are recruiting for a number of temporary roles for the 2023 festival. Roles include: technical teams, event, artist liaison, visitor experience, ticketing, admin roles and more.

factory internationalThe festival teams will be built over the next few months, with some roles starting as early as March/April and some joining just for the festival (29 June - 16 July), applications are open to until teams have been filled.

  • Casual roles £10.90 per hour
  • Assistant roles circa £23,000 per annum
  • Coordinator roles £25,000-£28,000 per annum (dependent on role)
  • Skilled/senior roles Fees vary based on project/role

Factory International want to bring together a pool of people from multiple different communities, backgrounds and life experiences to join the team at Factory International and help deliver MIF23 this summer. Send in your expressions of interest for the following roles:

  • Show/Event/Production Roles: Artist Liaison teams, Technical Staff, Stage and Event Management, Site Staff, Stage Crew, Wardrobe, Runners
  • Visitor Experience and Events: Ticketing, Front of House, Event Assistants
  • Administrative Assistants: Various coordinator, and assistant roles including on-site event roles

Contracts vary in length, some with core hours and some on a shift basis. Most roles will involve out of office hours working – this could include evenings and weekends for support across the festival events. Different roles will have different contract lengths and salaries based on the descriptions, we are committed to paying Manchester Living Wage at minimum.

Desired responsibilities
Factory International would like to hear from anyone who has skills and experience in the following areas:

  • Working in public and customer facing roles with a friendly and approachable manner
  • Being organised with a good eye for detail and ability to take direction
  • Assisting with and/or managing events across various formats
  • Project coordination, time management and proactively communicating with others
  • Assisting productions, artists and creative teams across a variety of art forms including music, theatre, visual arts

Technical roles including

  • Lighting and sound/ site management/ stage and event management / casual crew / wardrobe, costume, make up and wig staff
  • Artist liaison and events roles
  • Travel, logistics and accommodation research, booking and management

Personal specification

  • Positivity and enthusiasm with a hands-on attitude, including a flexible approach to developing and delivering the job
  • Commitment to championing diversity and inclusion at every level of the organisation with a proven ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds
