The Miles Platting You Decide fund, now in its 5th year gives residents control of how money is spent in improving their neighbourhoods. The fund is open to any group or organisation that wants to deliver a project in Miles Platting, East Manchester.
Miles Platting You Decide enables residents to shape the future of their neighbourhoods by providing a pot of money for projects that are delivered for the community by the community. A key element of the programme is that residents decide who gets the funding at the voting day happening on Thursday 9 July 2015 at St George’s Community Centre, Collyhurst.
Since its launch, the programme has supported over 34 community projects benefitting residents living in Miles Platting and the surrounding areas of East Manchester, giving out a total of £65,000 worth of funding. Past projects have included funding for IT courses, sewing workshops, costumes for the St George’s Day Parade and equipment for community gardens.
