The Neighbourhood Health and Wellbeing Fund – Manchester Local Care Organisation (City Centre, Miles Platting, Moston and Newton Heath) is now open for applications from VCSE a blue bag with a yellow ribbon around the top and white pound sign on the frontorganisations based in Manchester.

The Neighbourhood Health and Wellbeing Fund aims to make two awards of £13,800.

The Neighbourhood Health and Wellbeing Fund welcomes applications from VCSE organisations based in Manchester, especially those based in the City Centre, Miles Platting, Moston and Newton Heath.

The Fund aims to make two awards of £13,800, one under each of the following themes:

  • Men’s mental health – projects aimed at alleviating isolation and providing the tools to recognise and address mental health issues amongst men
  • Healthier lifestyles – projects aimed at increasing physical activity amongst those not usually active with a focus on sustainable changes to improve long-term health and reduce the risk of illness associated with inactivity (e.g. diabetes)

Activity must take place in and be benefiting residents from one or more of the following areas of Manchester: City Centre, Miles Platting, Moston and Newton Heath.

Projects and applicants should be embedded in the local area, to increase the chances of creating sustainable change and so that the learning from the projects stays locally and can influence future activity.

Who can apply?
The Neighbourhood Health and Wellbeing Fund aims to encourage and support VCSE organisations working in the areas that the Fund covers. Applicants must either be based within the named areas or be a Manchester based organisation which has experience of delivering relevant activity in those areas and can evidence good local networks.

Applicant organisations must have an annual income of less than £350,000 and have been established for at least 6 months (you will need to provide at least 6 months of financial records to demonstrate this).

How much can you apply for?
The maximum amount you can apply for is £13,800. The panel expects to make two awards, one for each theme, however this may change subject to the detail of requests made.
