Are you interested in bringing back nature to a neighbourhood in Greater Manchester?
Friends of the Earth and The Co-operative Bank are searching for community-rooted partner(s) in Greater Manchester to deliver a Postcode Gardener project to restore wildlife and build community resilience. There is £26,000 funding available over 3 years to deliver a Postcode Gardener project in a neighbourhood in Greater Manchester.
You will also get wrap around support on how to track changes in biodiversity and transition the project to a financially sustainable model. Postcode Gardeners are experts at getting people outdoors, socialising and working together. They support local people to grow plants for flowers, food and wildlife along streets, in front gardens and anywhere else people can enjoy them.
The fund is prioritising communities on the frontline of environmental deprivation that lack access to green space and are most at risk of air pollution, flooding and urban heating and have identified the following wards in Greater Manchester where a Postcode Gardener could have the greatest impact:
- Belle Vue and West Gorton
- Rumworth North
- Lever Edge
- Benchill South and Wythenshawe Central
- Busk
The fund is looking to find a community partner to deliver in one of these wards but have funding available to work in up to two wards depending on the strength of applications.
