Power to Change are inviting expressions of interest for research that will benefit the community business sector

17 Jan 2018 - 12:27 by michelle.foster

For the third time since Power to Change begun in 2015, they are inviting expressions of interest (EOI) for grant funding research projects that will benefit the community business sector in England. Power to Change

This is part of a two stage process whereby EOIs will be first shortlisted for the potential to submit a full proposal.

The aim of this open call for research is to give life to research ideas with tangible benefits for the community business sector. This may be about identifying key success factors, or barriers for community businesses in general, or in a particular location or sector. Equally, proposed research may seek to inform policy around community business or raise awareness about its benefits. The scope is up to you.

Up to three projects will receive funding between £20,000 to £30,000, to cover all or part of the costs of their research project.

Ideally the research will be informed by community businesses directly. But we welcome academics, freelance researchers, think tanks, community business representatives and of course community businesses themselves to apply.

Aside from overseeing the projects, Power to Change will ensure that the final outputs of the research are shared with as many of the right people as possible so that projects’ findings can actively contribute to the development of the community business sector.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 22 January, 12:00
