Manchester Volunteer Advice Partnership run 9-week training courses (sessions every Tuesday) teaching you how to give good quality advice on welfare benefits and housing, as well as assertiveness and communication skills. During this training, you will also be placed as a volunteer at one of our advice centres, your choice - either Manchester Refugee Support Network, Cheetham Hill Advice Centre, Manchester Mind or the Town Hall Project (at the Booth Centre). This placement will be half a week day, usually a Monday, Wednesday or Thursday.
The first event is on 13 June at Zion Community Resource Centre in Hulme at 11 am.
The second event is on 22 June at Woodville SureStart Centre at 1.30pm.
The recruitment session is an opportunity to meet the volunteer co-ordinators, learn about what the training involves and sign up. They usually don’t last more than 45 minutes.
