Research project: EDI in sport and physical activity in Greater Manchester

Dominic Conricode, a senior lecturer in Sport Management at Manchester Metropolitan University is conducting a research project which intends to document the types of ‘race’-based positive action measures developed by sport and physical activity organisations in Greater Manchester and examine the development and implementation of these measures in such organisations. Positive action refers to special measures which can be used by organisations to alleviate disadvantage or under-representation experienced by groups with certain protected characteristics.

Survey overview
This 5-minute survey asks for basic information from sport and physical activity organisations in Greater Manchester on your use of positive action measures. You can still participate in the survey even if your organisation has not developed positive action measures. To participate in this survey, you must meet the following inclusion criteria:

  • You are 18 years of age or over
  • You are employed in a sport and/or physical activity organisation in Greater Manchester
  • You have knowledge of your organisation's Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion policies and strategies

Advantages if you participate
All survey participants will be invited to enter a draw to win one of three vouchers for their organisation (1x £100 voucher, 1x £50 voucher, 1x £25 voucher). This draw and the distribution of the vouchers will take place upon the completion of the project.
