Santander Discovery Grants

18 Mar 2016 - 10:16 by michelle.foster

In 2016, The Santander Foundation has become The Discovery Foundation to reflect its important role in Santander UK's new flagship community programme called The Discovery Project.

The aim of The Discovery Project is to help people have the confidence to make the most of their future.

The Discovery Foundation will provide grants to support knowledge, skills and innovation to give disadvantaged people the confidence to discover and create a new world of opportunities. The Foundation's previous three grants schemes have been combined into a single new scheme called Discovery Grants making it simpler to apply for funding.

Discovery Grants of up to £5,000 are available to UK Registered Charities, Community Interest Companies and Credit Unions to fund local projects helping disadvantaged people.

Discovery Grants of up to £5,000 are available to fund an activity which supports one or more of our three priority themes:
• Explorer - improving knowledge and insight
• Transformer - developing skills and experience
• Changemaker - innovative solutions to social challenges

Grants must directly benefit disadvantaged people in the UK and must be for something that is wholly charitable. Funding is available to cover part time salaries, equipment or materials but is for one year and must deliver a local project, not a national initiative. The Grants are to fund a complete item rather than simply make a contribution to an appeal.

Deadline: This is a rolling grants programme, applications can be made at any time.
