Step Up MCR Board and Advisory Panel opportunities

Step Up MCR is the new place-based giving scheme for Manchester primarily focusing on the neighbourhoods of Ancoats and Beswick and Clayton and Openshaw.

Step Up MCR brings people together from within the community to maximise on our human potential, energy, skills, and resilience for the benefit of local people.

Step Up MCR aim to connect people in order to enable ideas to flourish and to support giving, whether of time, money, resources, or expertise.

Step Up MCR support and develop new projects led by the community which boosts overall health and wellbeing of the place.

Step Up MCR are helping build an exciting and prosperous future for Manchester and are currently looking to expand their Board of Directors and Advisory Panel.  

Step Up MCR are looking for caring, dynamic and committed people who are passionate about building community and making a real difference to a place and the people who live there.

Board Member Recruitment
Step Up MCR are particularly looking for people to join their Board who have experience at a senior/executive management level and expertise that will enable them to drive the charity forward.

To enhance the skills of the Board Step Up MCR are specifically seeking those who have expertise in the following areas:

  • Executive and Brand Marketing
  • Engaging local businesses
  • Campaigning
  • Fundraising
  • Charity Law
  • Finance
  • IT

Advisory Panel Recruitment
The Advisory Panel is made up of a number of people representing the voluntary, community, social and public sectors, as well as local residents. Its primary purpose is to advise the Board of Trustees on potential projects that are being considered for investment.

Step Up MCR are currently seeking local people who have a keen interest in the place they live or work, and have a passion to support others to grow, flourish and maximise their potential. Step Up MCR are looking for a representative from each of the following neighbourhoods to join the Advisory Panel:  

  • Ancoats
  • Beswick
  • Clayton
  • Openshaw

Successful candidates will act as ambassadors for Step Up MCR and promote the organisation positively when and when not representing outside both the Advisory Panel of Board of Trustees.

The positions are voluntary roles and you will be required to attend regular meetings to ensure Step Up MCR is able to carry out its mission.

How to apply
The first stage for anyone who wishes to join the Board of Trustees or Advisory Panel is an informal discussion about the role and Step Up MCR’s core purpose and mission.
Stage two is a simple application form which may be followed by an interview with members of the Step Up MCR Board.
