Support for Organ Donation in Manchester - If you could save a life would you?

16 Mar 2017 - 14:42 by michelle.foster

NHS Blood and Transplant has launched a campaign in Manchester and Salford to promote organ donation. There are 143 people in Manchester and Salford waiting for a transplant now. They need people to say yes to organ donation so they can get the organ transplant they need.

Mum of two, Natalie Kerr, was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension, a rare lung disease, whilst in labour with her daughter. Natalie, originally from Bolton, was given just three years to live at the age of 26, with a new born baby and a five year old son. She received the lifesaving double lung transplant she much needed.

Natalie said; “My life since transplant has been amazing! I can breathe and walk around like a normal person again! But best of all I get to watch my children grow up and we make the most of our precious time together. I cherish every breath thanks to my donor!”

Sign up today at www.organdonation.nhs.uk and let your friends and family know you want to help others after your death. In the last year over 18,000 people joined the NHS Organ Donor Register in Manchester and Salford. Join them to save and improve lives.

NHS Blood and Transplant are looking for organisation to support their campaign to help spread the message further, if your organisation would like to support the campaign email: [email protected]
