Manchester Safeguarding Partnership is delivering a week-long programme of learning and development opportunities to strengthen professional practice in recognising, responding to and safeguarding children affected by child sexual abuse.
Sessions will explore key themes including professional curiosity, safeguarding conversations with children, understanding sexualised behaviour, multi-agency decision making, trauma-informed practice, forensic processes, and learning from lived experience.
The programme is open to colleagues working across children's services, education, health, police, early help, voluntary and community organisations, and other safeguarding partners. A range of online and face-to-face sessions are available throughout the week, including the daily online Child Sexual Abuse Core Foundation Session.
Child sexual abuse can affect children of all ages and backgrounds. This week of action provides an opportunity to build confidence, strengthen knowledge and improve outcomes for children through informed and effective safeguarding practice.
Participants will gain practical tools, knowledge and insights that can be applied directly to safeguarding practice and multi-agency working. The programme also offers valuable opportunities to learn alongside colleagues from partner agencies and strengthen collaborative approaches to safeguarding children.
