Our programme uses the ordinary tram as creativity classroom to brainstorm and harness the inspiration provided by the tram experience and journey across the city landscape. It is designed to make use of the precious, yet shrinking, thinking time in modern-day lives, coupled with the rich stimuli offered by any journey, to take your thoughts and thinking in new directions.
#Tramspiration! is devised by leading creativity expert Andy Green and the Flexible Thinking Forum, a not-for-profit social enterprise which works to promote creative thinking skills in the community. #Tramspiration! is grateful for the support of key partners in the North-West.
#Tramspiration is a welcome relief to transform your next journey, your creative performance, even your life. It is about transforming your next tram trip - or any commute - into an inspirational journey.

Your Tour Guide uses your journey to generate new insights, stimulate new ideas, create new thoughts to leave you in a better place with better solutions to your challenge.
You also receive a #Tramspiration Idea Journey Planner - to develop your ideas into action programmes, project plans and powerful brand stories.
#Tramspiration is effective because:
- It capitalizes on shrinking ‘thinking time’ for incubating new ideas in our busy, time poor lives. It operates during ‘down time’ when we’re neither at work, nor in a primary social setting with family or friends
- The journey immerses us in a change of environment to the regular workplace to disrupt our normal way of doing which is a dialogically rich environment.
- Our commute offers an extremely abundant experience, potent in its variety, multiplicity of details, and back-story .
- Our journey is a dynamic environment full of unexpected prompts, interventions, and disruptions to take our thinking in new directions.
- Importantly, it is an increasingly rare communal experience in the daily schedule, where we are alongside people outside of our primary social networks, where traveling by tram we are sharing a common fate. (Don’t worry we won’t ask you to talk to strangers on the tram!)
- Our journey mirrors a number of major story narrative structures that can give our ideas or thinking greater depth and resonance
#Tramspiration Tours are a great opportunity to inspire new thoughts, insights or ideas - and also discover things you didn't know about one of the world's greatest cities - as well as being a fun thing to do.
You can use #Tramspiration to work on your live problems or challenges as well as pick up some great guidance, tips and techniques - it’s like having a Swiss Army Knife for your thinking.
