You can apply now for small grant of between £1,000 and £5,000 to improve local spaces and services along the 70-mile Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) as part of a new community fund, delivered by GMCVO.
With billions of pounds being invested to transform train travel between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and York, TRU has launched the community fund to give back to the communities it is working in.
A total of £175,000 is to be distributed along the route this year. The small grants round is now open with grants available between £1,000 and £5,000 for not-for-profit organisations.
Community projects within 5 miles of the core TRU route and its key diversionary routes will be eligible to receive funding.
The small grants funding can be used to cover many costs within the organisation, such as staff time, equipment, room hire, materials etc.
