Trustee Vacancies at Manchester Homeless Charity

The Booth CentreThe Booth Centre believe in bringing about positive change in the lives of people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness, to help them plan for and realise a better future. The Booth Centre are looking for people who can help them deliver their vision for the Booth Centre over the coming years by joining their board of trustees.

The Booth Centre is a Manchester-based advice and activities centre for people who are or have been homeless. The Centre is recognised nationally as a beacon of best practice and has won numerous awards. Their work involves the provision of support to some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people in the community with the aim of transforming their lives. The Booth Centre are a registered charity (no. 1062674) and have been operating since 1995.

The Booth Centre currently have nine Trustee Board members and are looking for additional trustees. Being on the board of the Booth Centre offers you the chance to use and develop your skills and experience. You will be actively involved in the strategy, governance and decision-making of this influential charity.

In line with the Booth Centre’s values as an inclusive organisation, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. The Booth Centre would particularly encourage people to apply who have personal experience of homelessness, as well as applications from members of the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community who are currently under-represented on their Board of Trustees.  All appointments will be made on merit.

Successful applicants will be supported with a full induction, as well as the option of coaching and mentoring with existing trustees. There is no expectation that applicants must have performed the role of trustee before.

This is an unpaid position. Expenses incurred while travelling to meetings will be paid. All trustees of the Booth Centre are subject to a DBS check.
