As many of Wythenshawe Good Neighbours services take place in public spaces such as pubs, social clubs and football clubs they are bound by their advice and guidance. Recent news over the weekend has given the go ahead for some pubs, cafes and social clubs to open under Covid-19 safe practices.
Wythenshawe Good Neighbours are waiting to see how this works with their group in mind. Wythenshawe Good Neighbours have decided, during this period of uncertainty to extend their telephone befriending service to any older person, vulnerable or non-vulnerable, who feel they would benefit from an “how are you” phone call.
Just a 15-minute phone call can change a person’s day and make a real difference. Regular short phone calls could lift their spirits and keep them connected to their community.
Get in touch if a member of your family, friend or neighbour would like to receive a regular phone call like this. If you would like to volunteer, Wythenshawe Good Neighbours will have plenty of telephone befriending opportunities over the next few weeks and you could make that difference.
