The University of Manchester is currently inviting charities and not-for-profit organisations to have a stand at Volunteer For Your Career, taking place in University Place, The University of Manchester, Oxford Road.
The event will be running throughout the week (11-15 February), with each day focusing on a specific area of volunteering, so you will need to sign up to the day which best matches the work of your organisation.
• Monday 11 February (10am - 3pm) – Vulnerable adults
• Tuesday 12 February (10am - 3pm) – Arts, culture and the media
• Wednesday 13 February (10am - 3pm) – Health
• Thursday 14 February (10am - 3pm) – Environment and conservation
• Friday 15 February (10am - 3pm) – Children and young people.
Volunteer For Your Career seeks to engage students interested in volunteering within a specific sector (hence why the University has separate days for the different categories) and demonstrate the rich diversity of volunteering activities taking place in our local communities. It will aim to give students a fantastic opportunity to meet and chat to organisations, and hopefully make a volunteering commitment.
Furthermore by focusing on the benefits that volunteering has for students’ employability, the University also hope to attract students to the event that perhaps wouldn't traditionally consider volunteering, thus giving you access to more potential volunteers.
It is free to join, but you must register your place – places are limited so do not delay.
