The Media Trust are giving 200 charities the chance to win free digital marketing strategy training for their organisation. The practical training will help you build a plan to engage your audiences and raise your profile online.
Charities like all organisations, need to ensure they are up-to-date with new digital technology trends and marketing tools in order to communicate with funders, beneficiaries and supporters successfully and effectively.
Since the Coronavirus outbreak charities have had to rapidly adapt to communicating and operating online, at a time when they are never more needed.
As we increasingly rely on digital platforms to connect with beneficiaries, share important updates, advocate for policy change and raise vital funds, having a digital marketing plan is critical.
Thanks to support from the Marketing Trust, the Media Trust are able to offer 200 charities free practical and expert-led digital marketing strategy training in January and February 2021.
Criteria
- Small to medium sized charities can apply (charities with income of up to £5 million)
- Charities can only participate if they’re based in one of the below regions
- Places will be eligible to those working in a communications or marketing role for a charity with the ability to implement the learning and Digital Marketing Strategy
Workshop dates
The online workshops will run from 9.30am - 12pm over two mornings in the following regions:
- Tuesday 19 January and Thursday 21 January 2021 – North East
- Tuesday 26 January and Thursday 28 January 2021 – North West
- Tuesday 2 February and Thursday 4 February 2021 – The Midlands
- Tuesday 9 February and Thursday 11 February 2021 – South East (including London)
- Tuesday 16 February and Thursday 18 February 2021 – Scotland
Digital Marketing Strategy Training
This practical online training is newly designed and tailored for charities to communicate online during the pandemic, combining new audience behaviour insights of digital engagement during the pandemic, new platforms and new features that will help your charity cut through online and make online work for your charity.
You will leave with a comprehensive digital marketing plan that meets the needs of your organisation as well as the confidence to implement and manage your plan with the resources you have.

- How to assess your organisation’s current digital marketing resource and capabilities
- Understanding and identifying your audience and their behaviour online
- How to use and incorporate digital marketing channels, tools, trends and techniques into your marketing strategy
