Wythenshawe Wanderers – Volunteer Driving Scheme

Volunteering with Wythenshawe Wanderers, part of Wythenshawe Good Neighbours, is a great opportunity to help provide services to those most in need in your neighbourhood. It can also be a very rewarding activity that will utilise and enhance your skills and experience. Wythenshawe Wanderers volunteer drivers make a real difference to people’s lives across Wythenshawe.

• To assist service users to access personal, social and healthcare appointments
• To assist service users to shop independently
• To make door step calls and to deliver our activity packs

All volunteer drivers attend an induction programme. For this scheme volunteer drivers donate their time free of charge however, drivers are reimbursed the HMRC rate of 45p per mile which contributes to the cost of fuel, insurance and maintenance on their vehicles.
