Comms plays a vital role in promoting Early Break and our mission and values as a charity. Your job will be to serve as key promoter of our charity and reach out to the young people and families we support, our customers, partner agencies, potential investors and the communities we serve, whilst maintaining our overarching image that represents us in a positive light. The role needs to ensure our staff are part of this journey.
We are looking for an ambitious, professionally curious and talented comms lead who is organised and has the ability to manage multiple workstreams in an ever changing and evolving environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in comms and will bring forth an abundance of ideas, techniques and methods for building efficient marketing strategies and will promote Early Break and the services we deliver in ways that strengthen our reputation and facilitate our continuous growth. You are someone who can help us achieve our strategic vision and goals for the future, have a creative flair, has pride in their work, embodies entrepreneurial thinking and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as an understanding of how a digital strategy will support our work.
Key Focus
Alongside SLT defining and managing the Early Break brand.
• Produce Marketing and promotional materials.
• Creating content for and maintaining the Early Break website
• Monitoring and managing growth of the social media platforms
• Produce internal and external communications.
• Support with media liaison.
• Assisting the Senior Management Team (SLT) with presentations/writing proof work.
• Offering support and encouragement from ‘enquiry to event’ for anyone wishing to engage in third party fundraising for Early Break.
• Entrepreneurial thinking – support or develop marketing/fundraising campaigns/initiatives that bring unrestricted income into the charity.
• Experience of managing and maintaining a CRM system
• Experience of working practice in either family work, Substance work or Emotional Well Being.
• Ability/previous experience of designing and delivering training relevant to the role.
• Willingness to develop the role in line with Early Break offer and your own ideas for the work
Skills
• Proven experience as a comms professional
• Proficient in using a creative design software to create engaging digital marketing materials, service literature e.g. Canva Pro, Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop or equivalent (also for printing e.g. event banners)
• Ability to input, maintain and update the Early Break website using relevant software
• Knowledge of how to extract and understand social media/website trends and analytics
• Experience of managing, monitoring and maintaining engaging social media platforms. Oversight and development of Early Break’s ‘Social Media commitment from our workforce’
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – verbal and written
• Experience of producing engaging representation including presentations, video content.
• Development of governance across the service in relation to the role
• Strong writing skills. An attention to detail and a robust use of the English language and knowledge of the appropriate grammar used for the appropriate audience is a must - Good copywriting and proofreading skills
• Experience of dealing with media enquiries
• Strong organisational skills, time management abilities and the ability to work at pace and manage multiple workstreams in an ever-changing environment
• Possess strong leadership skills and a fearless presence when representing Early Break internally and externally
• Support to stock management - ensure there is sufficient Early Break branded marketing merchandise across all geographical areas
• Experience in training development and delivery (including analysis and review processes) and managing any associated marketing campaigns
• An understanding of working within the legislation of GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) for consent and confidentiality.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulation in Fundraising and Charitable activity.
• Project management experience desirable – executing projects from inception to conclusion
• Attend meetings internal and external to the organisations work reflective of the role
• Create engaging surveys, extract data and produce reports in Survey Monkey or other
• Ensure first class reporting and governance is in place on campaign performance across all our active services.
• Attend/speak at networking & industry events, acting as the company’s authority.
