As a Tutor at ACE, you will play a crucial role in the lives of our students by providing engaging and educational activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction.  You will work with a diverse group of individuals, providing support, guidance to help them develop new skills, maintain their independence and enhance their overall wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver accredited Pre Entry/Entry Level educational activities tailored to the needs of students.
  • Undertake individual and group tutoring: Provide both one-on-one and group tutoring sessions to enhance learning and personal development.
  • Monitor progress: Assess and monitor the progress of attendees, providing feedback and guidance to help them achieve their goals.
  • Create a supportive environment: Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages learning and participation.
  • Collaborate with staff: Work closely with other team members to coordinate activities and ensure a holistic approach to student care.
  • Maintain records: Keep accurate records of attendees' progress and activities for reporting and planning purposes.
  • Stay updated: Keep abreast of educational trends and best practices to continually improve the quality of the programs offered.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Qualification in education, minimum Level 4 Teaching Certificate
  • Basic first aid certificate is desirable.

Experience

  • Previous experience in tutoring, teaching,
  • Working in a day centre setting would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Experience of working with adults with disabilities and/or autism or in a similar role.

Working Conditions

  • Location: The position is based at two sites based at Wigan and Leigh, with occasional off-site activities.
  • Hours: Typically, working hours are during the day, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required for special programs or events.

Conditions 

  • Position is subject to satisfactory  references and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Disclosure Certificate.
  • Subject to 6-month probationary period
