At The National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF) supporting communities to take control of the issues that affect them is one of their key ambitions. NLCF firmly believe communities have the skills and knowledge to identify and respond to the challenges they face. But NLCF know this doesn’t just happen by chance – it requires long-term investment in the systems and the people that make community-led change possible. This is where the change makers partnership comes in.
Through the new change makers partnership NLCF are investing £50 million in community leadership. Over the next 5 years, NLCF want to work with up to 12 partner organisations, to:
- Change the way community leaders are supported to succeed in England
- Develop and build strong support systems that meet community leaders’ needs
- Ensure community leaders have what they need to develop, to feel supported, reach their full potential and to thrive in their communities
