The Edward Holt Trust – Long-Term Funding Opportunity

The Edward Holt Trust invites applications from charities working in Greater Manchester for ambitious new pilot projects that aim to lift people out of poverty and/or prevent homelessness.

The Edward Holt Trust are looking for bold, practical and locally rooted proposals focused on prevention. Projects should tackle root causes, reduce vulnerability and build lasting resilience for individuals and communities. They must be shaped with people who have lived experience and include paid employment, training, skills or career-development opportunities for those colleagues.

The Trust expects to make a substantial multi-year commitment, likely to be around £200,000 per year for up to five years. The Edward Holt Trust may support more than one organisation and may taper funding in later years to encourage longer-term sustainability.

The Trust is inviting applications from local charities for ambitious new pilot projects that aim to lift people out of poverty and/or prevent homelessness. Proposals should be preventative, practical and locally rooted, with the potential to create significant and lasting change.

Projects must be shaped with people who have lived experience and include paid employment, training, skills or career-development opportunities for those colleagues.

Applicants should normally be based in Greater Manchester, have annual income below £1.5 million, and deliver the funded project within 15 miles of Manchester city centre. The Trustees may vary these criteria for an exceptional project and would expect larger applicants to collaborate with smaller charities.
