We invite VCSE representatives to express their interest in helping shape our Live Well work in Manchester, through a VCSE-led Live Well working group.
The Live Well movement is about ensuring everyone in Manchester has the chance to be healthy, happy and socially connected. It's a vision where communities have the resources, information and support they need to drive change and shape community-led health and wellbeing.
The VCSE sector is central to this. Manchester's Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations are rooted in their communities and trusted by the people they serve. We want to work with VCSE sector colleagues to shape and co-design Live Well in Manchester.
About the working group
As a member of the working group, you will:
- Contribute to the co-design and development of Live Well in Manchester
- Support the development of a VCSE Live Well action plan
- Share your knowledge, experience and insight from communities across Manchester
- Help oversee Manchester Community Central’s VCSE Live Well work
- Help shape how the VCSE sector can contribute to the wider Live Well movement
Initially, meetings will be held monthly, with the frequency reviewed once the group is established to ensure it works well for members and reflects the group’s needs. You will need to be available for the first meeting on Wednesday 13th January 2027, 12pm-2pm in person.
There will also be opportunities for members to get involved in task and finish groups focused on specific areas of work, once the group’s governance arrangements have been established.
We have a budget to resource and pay for your time, acknowledging the expertise and knowledge you will bring.
Who we’re looking for
We want to hear from VCSE organisations across Manchester, from large and small, and from place-based groups as well as communities of identity or experience.
We’re looking for a mix of perspectives, with a focus on:
- Tackling inequalities
- Supporting wellbeing and health
- Supporting economic wellbeing
We’d also like to see coverage across the whole city.
Our aim is to bring together a team that is as representative of the sector as possible. No team can speak for every interest, but we’re looking for a balance, with members who can link back out to the wider sector through their networks and connections.
If you’re not part of the working group, there will still be plenty of ways to get involved in Live Well through events and activities.
How to express your interest
Complete the expression of interest form, and return to aneeqa@macc.org.uk
The deadline for expressions of interest is Friday 27th November 2026, 12pm (midday).
Expressions of interest will be reviewed by representatives from Manchester Community Central. This is a unique opportunity for VCSE organisations to help influence and shape how Live Well is developed and delivered in Manchester.
If you are interested in being part of this work, and passionate about supporting the communities you work with, we would love to hear from you!
