The new CASH Grants Programme for 2013-14 has now been launched. This funding is available to spend on projects in the ward that meet identified local priorities.
What can be funded?
You can apply for any amount up to the full allocation for your ward. Your project should be something that benefits your neighbourhood, for eg. improving your local environment, building a stronger sense of community spirit, or helping to reduce crime or antisocial behaviour. Manchester City Council are looking for imaginative ideas that help to tackle issues in original and creative ways.
The Fund is open to formal established groups, voluntary groups and other community groups, as well as groups of residents working together for the first time. School PTAs can also apply if they have the support of local residents and parents and their project will benefit the wider community and not just the school.
A new variety of CASH grant applications are welcomed and groups should be aware that the budget is not there to continually fund repeat projects. Community groups should be looking to sustain the project and / or source additional funding streams.
Please note, if your group has received a Cash Grant before, the Regeneration Team need to be in receipt of the Monitoring and Evaluation Form before the group can be granted any other funding under the Cash Grant Scheme.
If you require any assistance in completing the application form, or you wish to discuss a project before making an application, or you have any queries at all regarding the Cash Grants programme, contact Lydia Tetteh-Lartey, on 0161 223 1155 - Dial 1 then Ext No. 2164 or Pamela Williams, on 0161 882 1316.
There are three application review dates with the initial date being the 3 July 2013.
