The Cabinet Office is inviting organisations to apply to deliver activity aimed at getting more people on the electoral register and increase levels of democratic engagement. This is part of the campaign launched by the Minister for Constitutional and Political Reform, Chloe Smith MP. Organisations are formally invited to apply for part of the £4.2million aimed at engaging groups which are currently under-represented on the electoral register.
Two new projects have been launched to which the Cabinet Office is inviting bids:
The Democratic Engagement Innovation Fund
Voluntary and community groups and smaller businesses are invited to come forward with innovative ideas to improve engagement with the democratic process and increase levels of registration.

Rock Enrol Youth Engagement
Organisations with experience of working with schools, colleges and young people are invited to deliver the Rock Enrol lesson framework to 16 and 17 year olds in regions across England and Wales, in areas with lower levels of registration for this age group. Cabinet Office developed the lesson framework with the youth-led organisation Bite the Ballot.
The Government is encouraging partnership working between organisations, for instance between charities which do not usually work in the electoral registration field but which have extensive local networks and understanding of specific communities that they could use to encourage people to register to vote.
