Hello and thank you for reading today’s Volunteer Centre Manchester blog post. Just to let you know, we will be submitting a lot more posts on a regular basis to keep you up to date with what’s new at Volunteer Centre Manchester, so watch this space!
Okay, back to today’s post. At Volunteer Centre Manchester we like to talk to the volunteers that use our services and the organisations we work with as much as we can, and through our conversations we found that organisations and volunteers had a lot to say but didn’t know where to start when it comes to sharing their stories.
Out of these conversations we hit upon the idea of creating a video channel that will enable volunteers and organisations to give a deeper insight into the “world” of volunteering. It’s a platform that gives people the opportunity to share their stories and help raise awareness around the subject of volunteering and what it means to be either a volunteer or an organisation that works with volunteers.
In our first video we hear from Suzanne who volunteers for Greater Manchester Riding for the Disabled Association based in Wythenshawe. Suzanne tells us about her experiences of volunteering, why volunteering is so important to her, what people need to be aware of when volunteering and how enjoyable volunteering can be.
If you are from Manchester and want to volunteer, or you are a voluntary organisation that needs support, visit our website now at https://manchestercommunitycentral.org - email [email protected] or give us a ring on 0161 830 4770 to find out more.
P.s If you are a volunteer or organisation registered with Macc/VCM and would like to share your story get in touch via our contact details.
Many thanks and speak again soon,
Barkery - VCM
