Localgiving North West Development Programme

The Localgiving North West Development Programme supports environmental charities in the North West of England to engage with online fundraising. Localgiving

This is a capacity building programme for groups running environmental or 'green' projects in their local community, and combines 12 months of support in running online fundraising campaigns, alongside up to £500 in match funding per group to be spent on the environmental/green project.

Groups taking part in the programme will receive 12 months free membership of Localgiving. This gives a group an online platform where they can receive and process donations, similar to sites like JustGiving, Bt My Donate etc.

Localgiving works with registered charities and 'unregistered' charities (like CiCs, residents associations, sports clubs etc.), and all members can claim Gift Aid on donations (bringing in an extra 25% on top of donations), members will be provided with one-to-one support and mentoring in their fundraising efforts, and finally Localgiving runs a number of match funding campaigns where groups can double the money they raise at certain times of the year (here's one such campaign coming up in June). The idea is to help groups to raise money online which can be spent on core costs, and which helps groups to diversify and strengthen their income.

Environmental groups, or groups running 'environmental' projects (such as groups managing or maintaining green spaces, running recycling programmes or green energy - that sort of thing), there's also up to £500 in match funds available per group on any and all donations made to them as members of Localgiving before the end of June 2017, to help encourage groups to get the ball rolling in their online fundraising efforts.
