The Greater Manchester Older People's Network (GMOPN) sends their congratulations to Andy Burnham, the newly elected and first Mayor of Greater Manchester, and they look forward to working with Andy on the important issues affecting older people across Greater Manchester.
The GMOPN invited people to a Greater Manchester mayoral hustings event in March 2017 which included the new mayor and candidates from the Conservative and Liberal Democrat parties, and the Green Party. During that event, Andy Burnham pledged to meet with the network at least twice a year to develop Greater Manchester into an age friendly place to live.
