Northmoor Community Association (NCA) is a registered local charity established in 2001, providing PQASSO quality standard services to the community and the variety of groups using the centre and services. NCA aims to inspire hope and raise aspirations of people to meet their goals, whilst being a friendly, welcoming hub of support in the community. The NCA serves the Northmoor neighbourhood and beyond, and boasts a number of successes both in terms of the range of activities it provides
NCA has built up a trusted and well respected position as a provider of much needed local community services, with a busy Community Centre and Community Laundrette. NCA works in an area of extreme outer-city neighbourhood poverty, helping some of the most vulnerable people and families

Your skills
NCA are aiming to broaden the experience and knowledge of the Board of Trustees as they continue to develop their services, and strengthen their expertise, particularly in the areas of business development, I.T skills, social media and fundraising. NCA also wishes to reflect the diversity of service users on the Board, and currently have under-representation from BAME backgrounds at Board level.
What’s involved?
You will attend and contribute to the Board meeting (6 times a year held early evening for 1.5hrs) and depending on your skills you may be asked to attend additional focused sub-group meetings. In return NCA offers training, out of pocket expenses, the opportunity to develop your skills and experience, and to influence the direction and development of the charity as part of an active Board.
