The World Taekwondo Championships arrive in the UK for the first ever time in May 2019. GB Taekwondo are looking for volunteers to join the Dan Clan as the taekwondo world arrives in Manchester.
The Dan Clan will be an integral part of the World Championships as they will be the face of the competition. They will be seen across Manchester from the airport, to hotels to transport hubs and of course in Manchester Arena. This is your chance to get involved.
The name Dan Clan comes from the common Korean term “Dan” which denotes a degree of black belt the top belt rank you can achieve in Taekwondo.
Not only are there roles available in the Competition Venue but there are supporting roles across Manchester, the home of GB Taekwondo. There will be numerous events running simultaneously as members from around the world gather for meetings and events around famous Manchester landmarks.
The competition will run across 5 days from Wednesday 15 May - Sunday 19 May 2019 at the Manchester Arena.
GB Taekwondo will be recruiting 250 – 280 volunteers to make up the Dan Clan.
Volunteer roles will be available between Friday 10 May – Monday 20 May 2019 with 32 different roles available in 10 different areas.
Taekwondo athletes will be competing at the World Championships not only to become a World Champion but also to gain ranking points to secure their place at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
