Greater Manchester Combined Authority Local Industrial Strategy – Open Data Consultation

12 Nov 2020 - 14:18 by michelle.foster

gm local industry strategyOn behalf of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Open Data Manchester is undertaking research into organisations that use data, especially open data that is derived from the public sector, to determine demand, prioritise release and understand what is needed so that the data is relevant, usable and of high quality.

This work is part of Greater Manchester's Local Industrial Strategy that identifies that to be a top digital city region, Greater Manchester must focus on how it uses its data, and how it can encourage re-use. Although the Industrial Strategy has a focus on the benefits for business and the economy, Open Data Manchester know that many within VCSE use public sector to help identify areas of most need, draw down funding and deliver and assess service provision.

As part of this research Open Data Manchester are conducting a short (5-10 min) survey and a series of sectoral focus groups (1.5 hours max) on:

  • Session 1 – Tuesday 24 November 2020, 2pm-3.30pm
  • Session 2 – Thursday 26 November 2020, 10am-11.30am
