the place at platt lane logoThe Place at Platt Lane is looking to recruit Trustee Board members to provide strategic direction, supporting the development of the business and helping it on its journey to becoming a sustainable, community-owned asset that reflects the diversity of the local area.

The Place at Platt Lane is a charity set up in 2014 to run Fallowfield Library. Trustees of The Place at Platt Lane developed a vision to create a vibrant community hub and inclusive local venue for everyone in Fallowfield. The Place at Platt Lane is developing well and it now generates income from room hire and donations. It offers a wide range of opportunities to support learning, skills, employment and wellbeing as well as providing a library service.

The Place at Platt Lane wants to build on their success and become more sustainable. To help achieve this The Place at Platt Lane are particularly looking for people with skills in the following areas:

  • Business planning
  • Networking and influencing
  • Social media and marketing
  • Legal
  • Bid writing and funding procurement
  • Fundraising
  • Community engagement
