Sow the City are launching a new Manchester wide Social and Therapeutic Horticulture service in July. Greater Manchester was selected as one of seven government ‘Green Social Prescribing Test and Learn’ sites and awarded £500,000 to fund two-year pilot nature-based pilot projects. Sow the City is running a 2 year specialist ‘food growing’ Green Social Prescription project in Manchester delivered in partnership with 7 existing community growing groups.
Sow the city are holding a launch event to find out more about the project on 30 June, 10am - 12pm.
Organised by Sow the City and Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership, the event will provide information on how to refer people to the new service and what the benefits of green prescribing are. There will be opportunities to provide ideas to help shape the new service and network with other like minded organisations.
