Across the country, integrated care partnerships (ICP) are being established to enable health and care organisations to better work together to plan and deliver health and care services; to improve outcomes in population health and healthcare; to tackle inequalities in outcomes, experience and access; to enhance productivity and value for money; and to help the NHS support broader social and economic development. The creation of the Greater Manchester (GM) ICP is the latest stage in the city region’s journey to closer working which has developed since our health and social care devolution deal in February 2016.
The GM ICP is currently developing its Strategy, also known as its 5 Year Plan, which sets out the over-arching vision for the new system. The strategy will describe the partnership’s aims, objectives and priorities for health and care in GM and will explain what the system intends to do to achieve these goals.
To help shape this strategy, the GM ICP is currently running a ‘Big Conversation’ with anyone who lives or works in Greater Manchester to get feedback, thoughts and ideas on what should be included.
