In the context of soaring living costs, the Monitor is a vital resource that can strengthen the case for action on poverty and inform policy making and service design and delivery. Over the summer GM Poverty Action have been making several changes to the site. This includes adding new local level and national poverty data.
Recent updates to the Monitor include:
- A new landing page with an animated user guide and improved access through to the ten themes and other resources
- Neighbourhood level maps showing Universal Credit, Free School Meals, Pension Credit, Council Tax Support and food insecurity data
- Short films – Stories behind the statistics - exploring the experiences, views and perspectives of people with lived experience of poverty on four of the key Poverty Monitor themes (debt, education, housing and jobs)
- A page detailing resources to support people using the site
