Back in April it was announced that NHS England wanted to work more closely with NHS Greater Manchester (NHS GM) through a process known as Enforcement Undertakings. Last month, the NHS GM board formally accepted an arrangement to work more closely with NHS England to deliver a set of formalised agreed actions under one single improvement plan.
This is an opportunity to outline how NHS GM can look in the future, and how it will work together as an integrated care system to make further and faster progress to get there.
On 5 August, NHS GM launched a public engagement exercise, ‘An NHS Fit for the Future’, which will run until autumn. This programme will allows NHS GM to take the public along with them on the journey towards achieving their population health, performance, and financial goals; to give staff, stakeholders and communities the opportunity to tell them what is important to them and what NHS GM should prioritise, and to increase awareness and understanding of the challenges they face.
