Support for applicants to the Manchester Youth Fund and Play Fund 2013-2015

Manchester City Council has launched its third round of commissioning for Youth Fund and Play Fund activities ( for further information, visit: www.manchestercommunitycentral.org/news/manchester-youth-fund-play-fund…). In partnership with Voluntary Youth Manchester and Macc, Manchester Community Central will be running a series of workshops and support sessions to help voluntary and community organisations within the City of Manchester to submit strong applications.

What you need to do
Check the eligibility criteria. Are you in a position to apply? Will you be able to meet all of the terms and conditions if you are successful? Have you got adequate time and resources to put an application in by the deadline?

The joint offer
Between us we will run a series of workshops and other support activities including:
VYM Network Meeting, Thursday 6 December, 1.30-4.30, Methodist Central Hall. Opportunity for voluntary youth organisations to discuss issues around the Youth Fund/Play specifications, to inform ongoing support

Macc/VYM Safeguarding Toolkit Workshop Thursday 13 December **This is now fully booked** and Thursday 11 January 10-12, at Macc, to book a place email: [email protected]. The Safeguarding Toolkit has been developed by Macc in partnership with Manchester City Council (MCC) and has been endorsed by Manchester Safeguarding Children Board (MSCB) and Manchester Safeguarding Adult Board (MSAB) as being the agreed standard for all commissioned providers from the voluntary sector. All providers seeking to deliver youth or play provision will be mandatorily required to have completed the Safeguarding Self-Assessment Toolkit by the time of submitting their application: www.manchester.gov.uk/safeguarding-toolkit

We will monitor the demand for support and endeavour to offer additional support or workshops where possible.

All groups accessing Manchester Community Central’s support are required to attend the Preparing a good application, gathering the evidence and the Strengthening and submitting your application workshops.

Manchester Community Central will prepare “top tips” sheets and post them on this dedicated page for the fund.

Manchester Community Central will work with the City Council and VYM to provide answers to your frequently asked questions.

Please note: that whilst web resources are free for any group to access, priority for workshop places and one to one support will be given to groups in Manchester who have not previously accessed Manchester Community Central’s support.
