Manchester Neighbourhood Sports Fund 2026-27

Sport clubs and community organisations based in the City of Manchester can apply for grants between £250 - £3000. The fund will operate as a rolling funding programme from April 2026 to March 2027. This fund is designed to support Manchester residents to move more, with priority themes being: 

  • Low or no-cost activities
  • Women’s and girls' participation
  • Activities for 0–5-year-olds
  • Walk, Run, Cycle initiatives
  • Retention and growth of participation

Applications are not limited to the above themes but priority will be given to applications that support one or more of these themes.

Funding levels
Level 1 – Up to £500
Supports organisations to meet minimum operating standards and strengthen governance. 
E.g. PLI uplift, welfare officer training, governance support

Level 2 – Up to £1500
Supports the continuation or enhancement of existing programmes.
E.g. Equipment, venue hire (if you don't own/lease the venue), marketing and engagement

Level 3 – Up to £3000
Support new, free or low‑cost initiatives that increase participation. Initiatives must last for a minimum of 12 weeks. Can also be used to support small capital work i.e. facility improvements, small refurbishments

Application review dates:
Round 1 – 11th May 2026
Round 2 – 6th July 2026
Round 3 – 28the September 2026
Round 4 – 7th December 2026
Round 5 – 1st March 2027

Decisions will be communicated within 10 days of each review date.
